Connecting Cities, Enhancing Journeys:
Our Global Impact

SunRail Florida

Single railway line with synchronized PIDS and PAS

Simpleway has brought a fresh air of improvement to Sunrail passenger experience and operational effectiveness. The system’s automated features have significantly reduced the manual workload for their operators, allowing them to focus on other critical tasks.

  • Public Announcement System integrated with nnounce amplifiers

  • Passenger Information Display System for 72 LED displays

  • Noise sensing microphones on every platform to raise the volume when a train is arriving.

  • Audio scheduler for automatic safety announcements.

  • Trigger-based play upon train arrival

  • GTFS and GTFS-R data integration for real-time train updates.

  • Text-to-Speech (TTS) for customizable announcements.

  • nnounce audio hardware

SunRail, covering over 60 miles across four Florida counties, plays a vital role in easing road congestion in a rapidly growing region. However, it faced challenges in delivering timely safety announcements and real-time information, particularly during peak hours and when trains were arriving at stations.

To solve this, Simpleway introduced an automated system that integrates synchronized audio and visual messaging. This ensured passengers received critical information promptly, enhancing both safety and the travel experience. The automation of announcements relieved operators from manual triggers, allowing them to focus on train operations, thereby improving overall efficiency.

In addition to the software, Simpleway installed nnounce audio hardware at every station, seamlessly integrating it with Transit CX. The system was further enhanced by adding noise-sensing devices that automatically adjust the volume of announcements based on the ambient noise level, ensuring clarity in all conditions.

As SunRail prepares for its next expansion—connecting to Orlando International Airport—Transit CX is poised to support this growth and solidify SunRail as a key transportation backbone of Florida.

  • Public Announcement System

  • Passenger Information Display System for 24 displays

  • Features for hearing and visually impaired passengers

  • Custom station detail dashboard with quick-actions

  • Pre-recorded announcement library

  • Automated Announcement System

Wellington Main Railway Station is a regional travel hub with a nearby stadium. The obsolete Public Address System and Passenger Information Display System, needed up-to-date technologies supporting the synchronization of voice and display announcements.

The Simpleway system manages 24 displays throughout the station, including a 2x3 meter Jumbotron in the main hall. The display content can automatically adapt to situations, such as crowd navigation to nearby national stadium. In this situation, displays show relevant content automatically. Of course, operation personnel also have the right to override any content manually or add further information.

Flexible voice announcements were recorded with the Simpleway voice talents and distributed on the QSC PA technology. These announcements are either triggered automatically based on pre-defined rules or manually initiated by operators through the control center user interface. The Transit CX system is integrated with Sehnheisser Wi-Fi voice emmiting technology for increasing the voice announcement accessibility.

Special attention was given to optimizing manual system operations, allowing staff to focus on managing the information lifecycle rather than individual screen content. Disruption mode was also integrated to effectively update all affected trip data within a single operator’s action.
